Adrian Peterson has missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. The Vikings excused AD from practice due to “personal reasons”.
In addition to missing practice, Peterson did not play in the Vikings first two preseason games. While the Vikings and Peterson have no offered a reason for the absence, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer did state that he didn’t feel it was necessary to play Peterson.
Could injury play a factor? As we know, runningback’s have very short careers in the NFL, especially ones as physical as Peterson. But who knows, maybe the issue really is personal. The Vikings obviously cannot afford to lose their star player, so who could blame them for being overly cautious.
